In this special two-hour workshop, you'll get to experience how Curvy Yoga is all about honouring the body that you bring to your mat, and how you feel during your yoga practice. It’ll help you build confidence in a safe, fun, and encouraging environment.

You'll learn how to make yoga poses work for YOUR body with the use of props like blocks, blankets, bolsters, straps and chairs. There will be plenty of time built into the evening so that you can explore, experiment and ask any questions you've ever had about what to do on a yoga mat. 

This workshop is ideal for you if you:

  • have never tried yoga before, but always wanted to... and you're a bit nervous about it.
  • attended "beginner" classes before, but felt left out, singled out, or couldn't keep up with the instructor.
  • want to learn how to make yoga work for your body.
  • want to spend two hours with Olwen (me) asking her any and all questions about yoga, Curvy Yoga, and enjoy a wonderful yoga class that will help you feel more awesome.

It's also great if you've  been practising for a while but you're open to experiencing yoga with a beginner's mind to see what else you may discover.

This workshop is not about weight loss or how you should look – it's all about HOW YOU FEEL while practising yoga. We'll discuss and move through standing, seated, balancing and twisting poses together and end with a much needed final relaxation. 

Curvy Yoga is for all shapes, all sizes, and all abilities. 

No previous yoga experience is necessary. Beginners with an open mind, a kind heart and an interest in circling with a great group of women are always welcome.

Please note that these classes are for women, and anyone who identifies as a woman, only.

Where: Awaken Wellness Centre at 420 Weber Street North, 2nd floor, Waterloo ON N2L 4E7

420 Weber St. N. is a white building across the street from St. David Catholic Secondary School. Closest major intersection is King St. N. and Weber St. N.

Please note that the 2nd floor can only be accessed by climbing approx. 10 steps. 

There is plenty of free parking.
